Video: Celebrating the Career of Senior Supreme Court Justice Elizabeth B. Lacy (Fellow ’08)

FEATURING A TRIBUTE BY HON. GERALD L. BALILES (FELLOWS CLASS OF 1986)

At the Foundation’s 2017 Fellows Dinner, Senior Supreme Court Justice Elizabeth B. Lacy shared her thoughts regarding her extraordinary career in the law, along with what it meant to be named Virginia’s first woman Justice to serve on our Supreme Court. And, none other than former Governor Gerald Baliles afforded us the rarest of opportunities to hear him describe what went into his historic decision to appoint Justice Lacy to the Court.

Featuring a tribute by Hon. Gerald L. Baliles (Fellows Class of 1986).

At the Virginia Law Foundation’s Annual Fellows Dinner on January 19, 2017 in Colonial Williamsburg, several Fellows were honored for their remarkable achievements as citizen lawyers, trailblazing judges, and selfless servants to their communities.

It was a night, too, to look back on historic ‘firsts,’ as Senior Supreme Court Justice Elizabeth B. Lacy (Fellows Class of 2008) shared her thoughts regarding her extraordinary career in the law, along with what it meant to be named Virginia’s first woman Justice to serve on our Supreme Court. And, none other than former Governor Gerald Baliles (Fellows Class of 1986) afforded us the rarest of opportunities to hear him describe what went into his historic decision to appoint Justice Lacy to the Court.

These moments were captured on film, and we’re thrilled to share them with you, so you can be as proud as we are in knowing that these two icons are not only extraordinary Virginians, but that they are also beloved Fellows of the Virginia Law Foundation.
